Do's & don'ts

  • Play on the floor with your baby every day
  • Use reciprocal play — smile back, copy their sounds
  • Repeat sounds and say simple words ("bah" → "babu")
  • Read colourful picture books daily and name things
  • Start a katori (≈100 ml) of soft mashed food, building up
  • Support sitting with pillows; place toys to encourage rolling
